Ok after my posts about changing the barrel, installing the national match barrel bushing(well fitting it properly) Installing the full length guide rod with 18# recoil spring. I finally got to test fire it with all the things done together. I put 200rds of wolf ammo thru it with no FTF, no stove pipes or jams. Its one of the smoothest 45's I have ever shot. Its funny my kid was watching me do all the work and me being so fussy to make it right. He has been like laughing at me for spending too much time and $$ on it. Like what the hell are you doing? He got to shoot it too and his eyes lite up and the smile that he had was priceless. He never seen a gun shoot so good. I didn't tighten up my slide yet even though i purchased the swage tools to do it (just a little). I shot three 3 shot groups with all 3 shots being snake eyes in 3 groups at 25yds. It shoots a tad off to the right so a quick move of the rear site to the left will fix that. The rest of the time it was rapid fire trying to make it jam which it never did. All my 45acp's in the past would stove pipe all the time this was why i was kind of hesitant to carry them. I trust this norinco with my life for sure now. Now its just more practice, more practice and more practice now. Its the first time i ever ranout of ammo at the range too. I would get discouraged with my 45's in the past with stove pipes and jams and stop shooting them because it just wasn't fun.
I also put the 16lb wolf spring in my CZ85B too, i took out the weaker 14lb spring. I bought both the 15lb and 16lb springs but after trying the 15lb first by hand it felt weak so i put in the 16lb and took it to the range with wolf 9mm ammo. Again its a different gun, it has less recoil and cycles smoother and faster. Again not one stove pipe or jam too all 18rds go off without a hitch.
I'm sold on the idea of tuning your pistol to the ammo your shooting. It can make the recoil feel like its a different gun. It actually becomes a pleasure to shoot.
