My favorite is the Remington 582 and the Remington Nylon 66. Both guns are accurate and function flawlessly.

The one I grab 80% of the time is my Green Mountain barreled Ruger M77/22M .22 WMR.  Next to that it would be my Green Mountain barreled Ruger M10/22 .22 lr.  Both are tack drivers and never fail to operate.  Three or four extra magazines is all that is needed.  Lawdog

Depends on what I'm going to use them for.  I suppose I could say all of them, but that's too easy.  For squirrels either my custom Ruger 77/22 or the TC Classic.  Rabbits the Rem. 241, it's the only 22 I've got with open sights.  I really have too many to put one up over the rest, have a real weakness for .22 rimfires.  I have some with receiver sights, which I mostly use for plinking, which is the most relaxing shooting I know of.

Guys,

You can't go further than an Anschutz.

Model 1700 is tops. Full-size, and basically a target/sporter.

I have used and owned a number of different makes and models, over many years, on five different continents.

I currently have an FWT which comes with a MacMillan stock, which I use for Silhouette.

But don't despair, I believe that anything that fits well and shoots straight, (and most importantly is in your gun cupboard), is better than anything that isn't !

cheers,
Sean

I like my Kimber Hunter very well. It's accuracy is exceptional, the fit and finish is first rate, and the design and lines are pleasing to my eye.

Iron sights: Savage model 6A with old style Remington rear windage adjustable sight and custom front blade.
Scoped: Thoroughly reworked Marlin model 60.
Both have silhouette match accuracy and flawless function.

This is a no brainer:  Martini International Heavy Barrel with Art Freeland's own left hand serial#8 open sights, made in the 40's.  It will nail a sparrow's eye at a fifty foot prone match. :gun4:

I love the Remington Nylon 66 with open sights but if a scope is used there is a bit of play in the barrel that causes the scope to get out of adjustment. I noticed this when I put a magnetic bore-sighter on the barrel and sighted the scope in. As soon as I picked it up and looked thru the scope with the bore-sighter still attached I saw the scope hairs move down in the bore-sighter. When I removed my hand from the forestock the cross-hairs returned to normal. Anyone else ever notice this? Anyway, I guess my favorite .22 would be one of my scoped Ruger 10/22's or my scoped Marlin 60SS. I still love the Remington Nylon 66 with open sights though. The appearance was ahead of it's time and will always be one of my favorites.

LDThornton, need to agree with you. When I bought my first rifle it was the Nylon 66. I have had it for 30+ years ago and is shooting great groups and it has't let me down. It was probaly agree it's outer appearance was before its time. But they are great guns and I will hang on to it forever.

Original Winchester 52B (I think it's a "B"), heavy barrel with the military trainer stock & a 4x Fecker scope. It's in 90+ condition so I try to keep the usage to a minimum with it.
Most often the Remington 541T & 6.5-20 Leupold gets called to duty.

I grab my BL-22 most often going out the door.  It just seems to carry better than any other .22 I own.  My most accurate  rifle is a Ruger 77-22. The .22 that most intrigued me was a Winchester Model 1903 thumb trigger.  I have only ever seen two, the one I used and another one that was barely recognizeable as a rifle.

when I walk out the door I either grab the ruger 10/22 or rossi R22B. both shoot as good as you can hold them.

Marlin Golden 39M for me, it just feels right. And has proven itself more accurate and reliable then the 10/22s (3) that I have owned. But after reading some your the other posts think I'll watch for a used Marlin 60 in good shape.

i like my 10-22 and i have always like the nylon 66 but my favorite gun (and best shooter) is my granddads ol winchester m69A it is a real pleasure to shoot and hunt with. but with its sentimental value im thinking of buyin another bolt action 22 kinda leaning towards the ruger the price is purty steep for a 22 but i reckon the dough my grandad shelled out for that winchester was purty steep back then too and it lasted him my dad and now me

For me it would be my T/C Classic Benchmark.

I wanted a rifle that I would not have to doctor up like a 10/22.
I've heard some bad things about these rifles but for me it's the best rifle I've ever owned. I've got a Leupold 6X42AO tactical on it and I can out shoot my friends Highly Modified 10/22 w/ a 6X18 scope on it.
I've Splattered two flys at the fifty yard range in the last two years, 2 for 2.
Some have said they jam real bad. But I've learned from a solider that was over in a Iraq. If a gun jams, It could be the mag. And he was right. Take a new mag and keep it loaded for a couple of days, to weaken the spring, then try it and it works. both mags for my T/C seem weak as far a spring pressure, but they feed like butter in the rifle.
If I could only have one rimfire rifle the T/C Benchmark would be it.
