Gotta be my Mossberg model 44 which is a bolt action 22LR with a 26" heavy barrel (not as thick as .920 though) made for use as a trainer by the Army late in WW2. It weighs about the same as the 30 cal carbine. Very very accurate with iron Lyman sights. Uses a 7 round magazine.

With so many .........22's... I could not answer this question ..over 20 a least   ..I don't count as I would have to quit telling my wife  I don't know??   I always admit to her a bunch and leave it at that!(she tell's everybody the number is 50..she lies!)  ..Many one's mentioned here are good choices and I have most of them ....I think I may be through getting more as my gun safe is more than full..unless she lets me get another gunsafe ..
I'll have to wait till she really wants something then spring that one on her ...but I probably have enough  .I always use the ploy that its just a collection like her teacup collection(that does'nt go far) ....But I shoot em all ..take three or four evrytime I go out ..

A standard 10-22 but with a re-worked trigger.  Everything else is stock including the sights.  Just a fun rifle to shoot with that crisp trigger.  I do have a CZ American in .22 Mag that is better for squirrels and such, just not as much fun.

Picking a favorite .22 is very difficult. My first was a Marlin 39A. My most recent is a Marlin 39M. My most accurate is probably my ZKM 452. My fun toy is my Green Mountain barreled 10/22.

My 1946-vintage Winchester 75 Sporter is my favorite. I've owned it since '62 when I was 15...and she hasn't gotten much outdoor time for quite a while as I drifted of to handguns and centerfire stuff. For quite a number of years I just couldn't get the enthusiasm up for rimfire shooting. Time to change that for sure.

find yourself about a 10 to 20 year old glenfield or marlin mod 60 tube fed, where the tube goes all the way to the end of the bbl. you will now hold 18 +1 rounds of ammo.  Man that is a lot of shootin! you will also be hard pressed to beat the accuracy, all for about 100. bucks.

i am going to have to agree with the glenfield/model 60............... i should, bought three of them in last three weeks. :)

Well, I couldn't resist.  I have to say that my favorite is my Rem 541S.  I find, however, that when I'm going hunting I'll use any of my Remington bolts.  I like them all, but probably baby the 541S too much and use my 580 single shot most often for hunting.  I have a 580, a 581, a 541S and a 540X.  I have a Clark Custom 10/22 that is very nice, but I reach and get my bolts most of the time.

Recently purchase a CZ452 in .22mag, but have not shot it enough to really bond with it.  It is a very nice rifle and has a lot of potential.  Some teething problems with the clip, but that is solved and it is 100% reliable now (if the ammo is).  I have to say that so far I have had 0 failures to fire.

It is a bad thing when you have to pick one above the rest.

Bottom line favorite is the Rem 541S.

Marlin 880 with factory camo stock and Simmons 3x9 rimfire.

The only thing I would change is that I wish I had gotten a tube fed instead of clip fed. Clips are fine when hunting but when I get together with friends and we do lots of 22 plinking the 7 or 10 round clips get old fast.

Still, a sharp looking squirrel gun that, last time I checked, can be special ordered at any Wally World for less than $200.

My Cooper is hands down the most beautiful and accurate 22 I have owned. But my favorite go to rifle when I need to grab something quick cause some critter needs shot around here is my Ruger 77/22 stainless synthetic. Bought it when they first became available, reworked the trigger, and put a 4x fixed power scope on it. It just keeps on killing and killing. :)

A 77-22 with a trigger job is hard to beat.  I have a stainless synthetic 22 mag that was good before but great after the trigger job.

I would have to say my CZ 452 17HMR is with out a doubt my favorite rimfire rifle. I love all of my CZ 452's but I really love that 17HMR round.

in bolt action it would be my Marlin 88 Squirrel Rifle.  Very accurate...one shot kills on squirrels.

In Semi-Auto it would be a Remington Nylon 66 w/o scope ... if I ever find a used one.

I have the Nylon 66 my dad taught me to shoot with.  I remember how excited we all were when the postal truck dropped it off at our farm in the late 1950s (I think) after Dad decided to order his from Monkey Wards.  Dad was sold by the add where the gun was frozen in ice, then thawed out and shot.  Real necessary in Southern California, where we lived at the time...

It still shoots as good as it did when it was first delivered.  I never remember a jam with that autoloader.

Last Jan. 6th I posted my favorite was my new Henry Golden Boy. Well my new favorite is my new Ruger 10/22. I bought a plain-Jane and restocked, rebarreled and replace a number of bolt and trigger parts. It was a fun project.....and the outcome.....one very accurate rifle...Jim

For just all around fun hunting & plinking can't beat the Ruger 10/22 Carbines. For serious hunting I really like my T/C Classic, it is super accurate with Rem. Sub Sonics HP. For serious target shooting I break out my custom Ruger 10/22's. Just got back from hunting cottonstails on the fresh snow this morning with my buddy & his beagle. Nothing like shooting cottontails on the run with a Ruger 10/22. ( Great practice for deer hunting )   HAPPY HUNTING FOR THE NEW YEAR

Sorry for the interuption - but I am a new member and for some reason I am not allowed to perform searches - have I missed something ?

BTW - my vote is for the Remington 550 semi-auto which fires shorts, longs & long rifles and I can't remember one malfunction.

My favorite is my Remington Speedmaster 552, got it from my Grandfather long ago, maybe mid 70's, and it wasn's new then. Anyway I took it out squirrel hunting yesterday, and it's still good for head shots. Shoots ,shorts, longs and long rifle whatever is in your pocket. 8)

I have loved shooting rimfires for over 40 yrs.
I own a  54MS Silhouette rifle (factory) Likes federal gold medal match
a highly customized 54MS for Silhouette shooting (McMillan stock and Hart barrel W/ bloop tube) Likes Eley Red
a slightly modified 10/22 (Volquartsen trigger and carbon tension barrel) Likes federal gold medal match
a highly customized 10/22 (McMillan stock and Tony Kidd 2 stage trigger and barrel) Likes Eley Red
a T/C encore rimfire bull barrel by (bullberry) Likes federal gold medal match
a CZ452 silhouette (factory) Likes Federal gold medal match
The only price I will tell you is the CZ was $389.00 a few yrs ago
You can believe me or not (HONESTLY) the CZ shoots as well as any rifle listed above except the custom 54MS.
The custom out shoots the CZ by .20  thats it.
NO-ONE can go wrong with the CZ (for the money)
I thank GBO for all the works he does to keep this site alive and well
Good shooting to all

Love silhouette shooting

Here's my .22 rimfires at present:
   1) Marlin model 60
   2) Ruger 10/22 (first year issue, sn.. #66**)
   3) NEF sportster  .22LR
                           .22 Mag
                           .17 HMR
    4) Marlin 880SQ
    5) NEF versa-Pack
    6) Anschutz "woodchucker" with stock stretched to adult dimensions
    7) CZ 452 Special
    8) Savage-Anschutz .22 Mag

The 880SQ and the CZ are the most consistantly accurate, while the woodchucker, Versa-Pack and Ruger come in close seconds (depending on individual ammo & day). THe CZ is also a delight to handle and "fondle"...LOL

Still; if some big, bad "big brother" said"you can only have one !"...I would have to go with my old Ruger. Not the MOST accurate..but right in there close ( shoots right with some "tricked out" 10/22s I have built and given to Grandsons)..but given the convenient weight, virtually flawless feeding from rotary mag and the extra fire power for certain situations..it would be my choice.

Of course, the .22 Mags and .17 HRM are in a different league, but the question was "rimfires".

My favorites are my Winchester 1890 with a new barrel from Numrich Arms one of the best shooters I’ve had and my Remington 552 Speedmaster ugly as sin, but shoots anything!
I think it even cycled a twig I had in my jacket pocket once  ;D

It would have to be my Marlin 783 .22 magnum. Just can't seem to miss.
