Both slayer and russianblood are spot on. My 32's and 36's do fine with 15-25 grains depending on ball and patch used and what I'd be shooting with it.
I'm not into shooting max loads even for hunting, but still can't agree with the 1 grain/caliber adage though unless only for target or plinking loads. Would work Ok in the common smaller to mid bores for hunting (depending on lots of factors) I guess, but not in the big bores on big or dangerous game ... from my shooting spot anyway. 50 in a 50, 54 in a 54, etc. on elk, moose, bear, cape buffs for example? Nada. :wink:
