The next generation!!!
« on: November 13, 2005, 12:27:53 AM »
I couldn't find a forum that fitted this but I just had to let you guys know.
My wife gave birth to our second boy at 2:12 AM Australian EST on Saturday morning.

Names: Rigby Lyall
Weight: 4.74kg (10lbs 7 ounces)
Length: 52cm (20.47")

Here's a pic:

His mum and I are chuffed.
I guess with a name like Rigby he really should be in the Big Bore Rifle forum.
And he'll learn to hunt......gotta keep the sport alive. :D

Kombi,

Congratulations.  Hope all is going well with your wife and son.  Wow!  Nothing much cooler than a new child.  Mine are basically all grown up, but I will always remember that 1st time holding them and thinking "I can't believe this is my kid".

Again congratulations to you and your wife.

kombi - you sure look like a proud Dad.  Congradulations to you and your wife.  Yes, Rigby sounds like a fitting name for that young one.  So when do you plan on getting him his first rifle?????????  Mikey.

Congrats!  Since this is your second you already know that having a kid is like squeezing the trigger with hair in the sights - that's when the real work begins!

Best wishes to all.

Hey, fine looking future shooter you got there.  Don't forget, Rigby also made the 275 Rigby and 350 Rigby, both medium's.

Congrats, he is a fine looking boy! They sure are fun, a little bumby at times later on, but worth it.

Keep in mind that those smaller rounds may have been made for those that did not weigh 10#7oz. at birth.

I never thought of it that way but I should have.

Congratulations!

Fine big boy, start stocking up on food and ammo.  Mine started at 10.25 lbs and 14 years later he stands 5'10 @220 lbs, he thinks a 300 Win Mag makes a fine day of shooting.

Nice size there.   :D   Question if you will!  Do you believe he will grow up to be larger than his Daddy?   :?:   Mine started out at 20", 9 lbs. even and today, 30 years later, he stand 6'8 1/2" and weights in at 272 lbs.  Most it in his shoulders.  He said at age 8 he would be taller than his old man and he did it.  I'm 6' 7 1/4" and 264 lbs.  Watch them meat and taters you feed them as it will come back to haunt you.     Lawdog

Well, I'm about 6'3" and 230lbs, as is one of his uncles(I'm a twin, see), another uncle is 6'6" and 240lbs and a third is 6'6" also.
His grandpa is 6'2" and so was his great-grandpa on his mum's side.
Let's say the odds that both he and his older brother(who was 9lbs 5 & 21" at birth) are going to be bigger than their dad seem to be rising by the day!!
And both of them spend plenty of time noshing down too.

It's a shame that nobody told you when you were a kid that smoking would stunt your growth!

:D  :-D  :-D  :D  :-D   I'd hate to think where I'd be if they had!!  I quit smoking during deer season in 1993.  Just threw away the pack one day while hunting and never touched them again.  Wife is happy about it too.  Lawdog
