Tracker Question?????
« on: November 13, 2005, 01:09:43 PM »
I went to a gun show yesterday. I saw a few NEFs but nothing really caught my eye until i got to this one table. I saw a NEF standing in a rack and noticed the barrel had rifled sights.  So i thought it was a handi. Well i picked it up and the thing had to weigh 9 pounds. It had a 24 inch barrel. I looked at the stamping in the barrel. To my surprise it said Tracker Mag. Well i thought what the crap. Then i kept reading and it said 10 gauge. It was a smooth bore barrel. It was in great shape. This is the first and only one i have ever saw. Can anyone tell me when these were made and if anyone else owns one?

I've never seen them as a complete gun but they have been available as an accessory barrel for as long as I can remember.

Varminter,

I am not sure when they were made, might have been a barrel from the Barrel Accessory Program. This barrel is still available from H&R/NEF, its #638 and is $56.00. Did you happen to notice the serial # on the receiver?

Did you buy it? How much did they want for it? Was the stock just like a tracker? You should have bought it.You never know when you might need a gun like that for elephants or volkswagons and such.

Nope i didn't get it. The guy wanted a pretty penny for it. $250 plus taxes and background check. Too rich for my blood but still a good looking gun. The stocks were the same as the tracker 2's but the barrel said Tracker Mag. It's the only one i had ever seen.

That's a crazy price! I would have left it there as well. One of these days I'd love to pick one up but that was no bargain, at least in my book.
