Anybody here know what the barrel threads are on a CZ 527? I'd like to put together one in 6.5mm PPC but my lathe can't cut metric threads so it would be good to find out before I go too far thinking about it.

I'm sorry but haven't rebarreled one and don't have any idea.. That sounds like a great idea but are you certain the 527 will handle that case diameter.. The PPC's are built on much larger case diameters than the 22 Hornet/223 diameter commonly used in the 527. They do put up the 7.62x39 so I suppose it might work.. Is there sufficient bolt face diameter for the PPC casehead?

Yep. I plan on starting with one in 7.62X39 so the only change would be the barrel and probably the feed lips on the mag. It's a single stack center feed type, but the PPC case is a lot fatter in the front so it'll probably need some attention. I'm hoping it'll be a nice lightweight rifle for tactical matches with a lot more long range punch than the original caliber. I've been so impressed with what the 6.5 Grendl does that I want to try my own version.

I was thinking the PPC rounds were larger in diameter than a Russian 30 cal short. Are you certain the CZ has the bolt face to allow for it the be expanded to contain the larger PPC case head?

Yep. They're all made off the .220 Russian case. Same exact case head, so no bolt work would need to be done.
