I have just got into reloading(about 3 weeks),have bought,2 presses,more dies than I want to list,books....books and more books,reloading tools..ect...,brass,bullets,powders,and a tumbler.I have a Lyman Turbo Pro 1200.What I'm not sure on is the type of media I need to use in it.Treated corn,Tufnut,What?

Both...

I run my brass through Lyman treated walnut for 1 hour and then through Lyman treated corncob for an hour.

Walnut shells usually clean up brass faster.....corncob media puts a shinier finish on it.

I agree with the two replies above. I also use the same Lyman Turbo and Lyman Tuf-Nut media. You don't need to add anything else. You'll avoid case hazing and the clumping effect by not using any liquids. Just one mans opinion. Best wishes.

Go to your local petmart and in the rodent bedding section they have walnut and corn comb media. Works fine. I use the walnut for cleaning and corn for polishing.

Rick, ifin your gonna be doing a lot of cleaning, I get a 50lb bag of crushed walnut shell from my local farm and feed store. Runs about 11 bucks a bag.

I prefer walnut with rouge on it (Lyman makes it). It lasts a long time.

Also check with some of the local welding shops and construction supply houses that sell blasting media. Youll probably have to know the sieve size (grit) but they should be pretty reasonable on the price. (I dont have the sizes handy but if you need them I can post them tomorrow.)
