Just how well did the Handi's do at the Pdog shoot last year?
I've made my mind up to be there this year. My 357 Max is the only thing I got that comes close to being a varmint cartridge, but I got about 150 pounds of monotype, so I can make some nice cast varmint bullets, but about 150-200 yards is all I could reasonably expect this rifle to whack them little critters at reliably.
so I got a couple questions...
What would you consider the honest average range for pickin' them little buggers off?
If you was buying a rifle to dedicate to shooting Pdogs with once a year, would it be a Handi?
Which chambering performed better, the 243 or the 223?
Was anyone shooting a 25-06 or bigger? How did they show for themselves?
For those who have done a bunch of this, figuring that 250-300 yards is the max average range for this game, how do you think a 30-30 shooting 125-130 grainers would be?
What kind of accuracy to you really need for the exercise to not be a waste of time or ammo?
