Used Single six (three screw) Is it bored for 22lr or 22mag?

I recently picked up an old model single six, 22lr.  The frame is marked .22 cal.  My question is the barrel bored for .22 magnum or is it a .22 lr only pistol.

Did they make the old model as a convertible?  Did the make .22 LR only versions of the single six?  The serial number is a 60-xxxxx. and it is a blued revolver.

Have you gone to Rugers net site?
My three-screw, sn 145xxx, is marked only ".22 cal.
If it was bored for Mag, it sure shoots LR's accurately.

New OM Super Single Six

Picked up an OM Super Single Six today.  By the serial number search I did on the Ruger website, it was manufactured in 1971.  The frame says "22 cal" above the Single Six markings.  I'm guessing this pistol is 22WMR capable since he dealer said the person who sold it to him could not find "the other cylinder".  Sound accurate?

Were not the .22 Mag. cylinders marked as such, right on the cylinder?
Were they not unfluted for positive visual identification?
Am I confused with Colts? :roll:

Sorry for the confusion, the frame is marked 22 cal.  I was going off of memory and apparently that didn't go so well.  I was thinking about my bearcat with the cylinder marked .22 lr.  

But you seem to have answered my question.  I guess since it is .22 cal it is bored for .22 mag.  I got it used and it only had a .22lr cylinder with it.  Was hoping that it was bored for .22 lr, since that is all I'm interested in shooting, even if I had the mag cylinder.

Again, sorry for the misinformation and thanks for your help.

Just a little input. My wifes Old Model Single Six Convertable (serial 815,xxx, with no prefix) is stamped 22 cal. Neither it's 22 LR nor it's 22 Mag cylinder has any markings and they are both fluted. The barrel slugged @ .2243, with sharp riflings. While this darling does shoot to different POI when switching from LR to Mag, it groups about the same at 25 yards. Even with the over sized bore (22 short/long/long rifle is usually sized to .223) I think the soft lead in the smaller calibers upsets enough to do a pretty good job of sealing.
I'm glad I saw this thread. Even though we've been shooting it for almost 30 years, until today, I had not noticed that neither cylinder had any markings. Since we handload a lot of 38 Special, we have not used the Mag cylinder much. Thank you.

The single six has the slightly larger .22 mag bore so it will shoot both.  Use to be people claimed the smaller 22rf wouldn't shoot accurately through the  single six, which was alotta crap.

Whole lotta crap.  If its a six, it should take both cylinders.  On my six, the lr cylinder is unmarked, and the mag is marked .22 mag.  Interesting how almost everybody in here has different markings...  Doesn't matter what you shoot out of it.

I have an old 3 screw Ruger single six, and both my cylinders look the same, the only differance is the long rifle cylinder has a recessed ring around the cylinder were you load the shells, the mag does not, otherwise there are no marking on either cylinder, both are fluted.
