got one!!
« on: November 17, 2005, 10:10:16 AM »
Been making up my mind on buying an ATV since I sold my boat, ran across what I thought was a good deal yesterday. I'd been thinking about a used yamaha 450 utility a friend of a friend had for sale, (considerably more $$) but this one showed up and I now have it in my garage. I bought a 2002 suzuki ozark 250 for $1700....looks/runs like new (mechanic owned).  2wd, but for what I'll use it for, it's all I'll need.  Did I do good??

Well personally I think you paid way too much. Back when I bought my used Honda Recon 250 it was no older than the one you bought is now and I only paid $850 for it. A new 250 can be had for under $3500, some times a fair bit under. To me half price on a used one that old is a bit much. But if you're happy that's what matters.

WOW! Used ATV's in my area are hard to find in any condition! Seems like the only ones offered cheap are on their last leg. Compared to a lot of other ones I've looked at, this one seemed like a bargain. I guess it has a lot to do with the market area. Anyhoo, I'm happy. The guy I bought it from just replaced the brake pads and gave me a second set of tires, plus he races the 100 mph type of ATV's and is a good mechanic. No smoke, leaks or anything. It'll probably out-last me, for all the use it'll get! Besides, now I have a few bucks left over to buy another toy or two... :-D

Thanks!
Mike

We have an antique ('85 model) Suzuki 185 that we rode yesterday.  I am sold on their products.

Price sounded fair to me for one in such good shape.

You done good! I'm waiting for a check to come in to buy a 2005 Ozark for $3,000. The Ozark is a fine atv!
