Ammo boxes
« on: November 18, 2005, 03:16:54 PM »
I have a question that might be a bit misplaced, but here goes anyway.  I bought a contender barrel in 357 Maximum.  What size ammo boxes will accommodate this round when loaded.  yhe normal ones for 357 mag are too short.  Any suggestions???  Thanks.

I found a nice plastic box for 357 mag and the top of the box slides over the bottom (2 piece).  Length does not matter then.

I use a J&J  SR100R for the 233,  you will have to place them in bullet down, I load the 357 maxi with the 180gr speer fn. I also use 223 20R plastic boxes  :money:

:D Morn'in shooters,

The following is just IMHO, but I do not like any of the hinge top boxes I have used. Just don't seen to last.

Some like the last batch of Midway boxes shattered/broke when dropped.  Not impressed with that.

Therefore, I go to the "slip-top" boxes.  There is also more ability in these boxes to except loads of differing lengths.

Have problems keeping the tops on when you pick up a box full of loads?

NO PROBLEM!  Just get yourself a used bike intertube at the local bike shop and cut yourself some rubber bands. NO MORE PROBLEM!

Keep em coming!
