We got my son's Old Army out today. We were going to shoot it for the first time. Brand new gun. While seating the first ball I bent the base pin. It seems the locking screw wasn't in the locked position. I ended up taking the whole gun apart to drive the bent pin out from the hammer side of the frame. I felt really, really felt bad about it since my son (17) bought the gun with his own money. Then I got to going over some of the old posts here on the forum starting at page one. It seems I'm not the only one.
What is it they about wisdom coming from experience? Well chalk another one up. I hope keeping this near the top of the forums will keep someone else from doing it.
Maybe one of the moderators could even put a warning notice as a sticky here on the forum.
