10 gauge barrel
« on: November 19, 2005, 07:12:53 PM »
I got a project started and I need a 10 gauge barrel blank.  Does anyone have a suggestion on where to obtain an inexpensive 10 gauge shotgun barrel blank?

Try the GunParts catalog. They list parts for several 10 ga shotguns.. Also a trip to local pawn shops might find such a piece for sale.  DixieGunWorks used to have a large selection of old shotgun barrels. Some were doubles and they were quite old..  Some of the barrel makers also sell 'rifled' shotgun barrels(not sure if in 10 ga.) and likely could make one without the rifling..  What are you building if I may ask??

You might look for an old H&R single shot 10 gauge. These are generally very inexpensive (especially if they're rusted on the outside) and very heavy.....you'll need to turn away a lot of steel to make a trim blank out of one.
