Hi:

This question is for anyone that reloads ammo and has good knowledge of ballistics.

1. Hornady's new LeverEvolution ammo is specifically made for rifles that have tubular magazines. Could it be possible to make that same style of ammo for the .22 Long Rifle?

2. If it could be possible to make this new type of ammo in .22 Long Rifle, what would the ballistics be for something like this? Would the energy increase enough to use the .22 Long Rifle on the Eastern Coyote?

I had some concerns about it being used in a tubular magazine, but Hornady said it can be used in them.

The "pointy" part is just soft plastic, no reason you can't use it in a tube.

I thought the field report was encouraging....course that's what it's supposed to do! :roll: They aren't too expensive at $13.89 for the .30-30 and $15.55 for the .35 Rem at Midsouth, seems worth a try to me, anyway. Midsouth is out of em already, so someone is trying them. They do indicate they're using their high energy powders in some of the 4 offerings, they won't tell which ones, though!

I'm not sure that it would bring the 22LR to the level you would want for yotes .

However i have had good luck with the Remington 22win. mag. Permiers with the 33 gr, V-Max .

These rounds have a harder plastic tip but since they are rimfires the tip dosn't matter in a tube mag.

They also do a nice job an groundhogs to about 100 yards
