:oops: what powder would you choose to load 243 65 to 75 grain bullets with . never reloaded before . trying to feger out where to start

Most manuals will indicate which powder and load gave the most promising loads/accuracy loads/most consistant loads for a given bullet, what does your manual recomend?

well i ant got a manual. i am going to get a lee anneversry kit after CHRISTmas. the reason i was asking i am trying to get all the stuff .ill need to reload. a littel at a time but it well better to read the manual before i buy eny powder thaks for the reply

Looks like AA4350 would be a good powder.

If I had my druthers, I'd use Varget.

H-414, H4350, & H-4831sc have worked best for my .243 varmint. Single choice would be H-4831sc, but all three preformed very well. Faster burning powders didn't even come close to these 3 for velocity or accuracy.

One that not many folks think of in conjunction with this use. IMR3031. I've gotten better accuracy and more velocity from it in the .243 with that weight bullets than any other powder I've tried. Give it a try and be amazed.

Then by all means do not start reloading until you get one. That should be the very first item to buy when getting into reloading. And don't even look at the load data portion of the manual until you have read every page preceeding the data!

I second graybeard, my 243 really likes imr3031 and 85grain bullets.

:shock: i did not know ther was that meny powders on the market. i think it would be best to get my loading press first and manual before going eny futher thanks for the imput.
