I just picked up an Interarms Virginian Dragoon in 44Mag. While is shoots very well and accurately, it is showing its age, (28 years +/-).
I need new grips for it and a rear sight blade.

Any thoughts or sources you might have would be appreciated. Also, if any of you have any experience with this pistol I would love hearing from you.

I love my dragoon. As heavy and unweildy as it is, I prefer it over the Blackhawk grip frame after shooting full power loads side by side.

Watch Ebay for the grips. A few show up every now and then. Check out the Ajax grips. They do not warrenty the Dragoon grips against breakage with the design of the fixed pin too near the toe. Seems a lot break right there.

The blade from a Ruger Blackhawk will work on the Dragoon. I also have a 6" Stainless one that is fitted tight as can be and shoots extremely well. I have been told that there are some vintages that lack in quality, mine sure doesn't.

I also broke the sear spring and the springs from a SAA Colt fit and work fine.
As far as quality, I have had several men at the club want mine and wondered where I found a gun that is of that age in unfired condition. I hate to tell them what I paid for it. I found it in a little shop at the high price of $225 OTD, I asked the owner if he was sure and he said that was what he wanted. Mine must have been an early one as the SN is 000XX.

:-) Thanks for the input. I paid about the same amount. The bluing is worn off in some places but you can tell that the gun was very well polished, which is one of the more expensive operations.
As I said earlier, the Virginian is a very well built revolver IMHO. Mine shoots incredible groups and has a trigger "let off" that is custom quality.

I have the Silhouette (10.5" barrel)model of the Virginia Dragoon. Still working on finding a load it likes.

I bought it about a year ago. I love the way it feels and looks. It has the Pachmyr oversized grips that are nice for heavy loads, but I'm looking into replacing them with some nice wood made out of purple heart for mild to med loads.

I cant seem to find the rear sight blade that you were looking for.

Ajox and Eagle will make grips for it though..
