Weaver Classic V16
« on: November 25, 2005, 03:27:48 PM »
Is anyone familiar with the weaver 4-16X42 Classic V Series scopes? I'm interested in this scope because it seems to have a fairly wide FOV. I was wondering how it compared to the Nikon Buckmaster, or the Bushnell 3200 Elite for clarity and brightness. Any comments appreciated.

I have a V-16 on a 25-06AI Sendero, which has been on 4 trips to Wyoming with no problems. My brother has 2 or 3, one acted up a little
bit & he will send it back.

I also have a Bushnell 3200, I feel that it is a little brighter & the adjustments are a little more repeatable.

I don't have a new version Nikon Buckmasters, but some Long Range Shooters who are quite pickey say it is really good, I will be trying a
Mil-Dot Version soon.

I have a V-16, a Bushnell 3200, a Bushnell 4200, a Nikon Monarch,
a Leupold VX II, and a Mueller.  Of all of these scopes, by my eyes,
the Weaver has the poorest clarity.  The Weaver was the first
scope I purchased after I decided that I needed to spend more
money on scopes.  After all of these scope purchases, I look
heavily toward Bushnell 3200/4200 seris scopes.  For the money
there are brighter, and clearer, scopes on the market, than the V16,
and the Bushnell 3200 leads the pack, by my assessment.
