Just got a Marlin 2000....
« on: March 06, 2003, 01:27:12 PM »
...now comes the HARD part: Which scope?

I plan on using it for rimfire precision shooting, squirrel and groundhog hunting. I'm considering a Tasco World Class 6-18X w/dot reticle. Opinions? TIA

I have always had no problems with Tasco in fact my Henry 22 Mag sports a 3x12 Tasco I think for the money they are ok. I would shop around for one to see what the best buy you can get for one as the company went out of business and Bushnell took over the name but will not honor any warranties I called Bushnell and asked so if some one tells you they will as a selling point to buying their scope and if they insist they are right have them call Bushnell right there and talk to them to clarify it for sure. Other than no warranty you might get a really good deal on one and it would be worh taking a chance on it. I just got a Tasco optima dot sight that still had the $289.00 price tag on it for $40.00 just because they are out of bussiness I snapped that up and it seems to work fine a bit hard to zero but after you do it is fine. So I would not be afraid to buy a Tasco but I would make sure you can get the best deal possible as they are out of business. Jim
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

Nope, I got the only one they had and it was a floor model or  demo model and was the only one they had left it was one of the earlier models I am sure because I had heard they went down in price after a while but still were expensive. This one is touchy to adjust but it seems to work well and I like it on my Ballester Molina 45. Jim
