Got a 140 class 10 point yesterday in Marylands opener
« on: November 27, 2005, 02:49:44 AM »
Got a 140 class 10 point yesterday in Marylands shotgun opener. I herd him in the woods grunting for about 5 minuets. He stepped out about 160 yards from my stand and slowly walked toward me. He was coming directly at me and at 90 yards he turned broad side to me and I took the shot. He did the mule kick and started to take off, but his front end did not want to keep up with his back end. He went 50 yards and dies 40 yards in front of my stand. It was nice looking in the field at 40 yards and seeing the big 10 point down. No tracking required. :-D  Yes another mount for my wall.  :-D  :-D  8)

Congrats RedHawk!  I know how exciting it can be to take a nice buck, although I have not done so for 4 years  .  Please post pics so I have something to hope for in the future    Also, what where you using etc...
I always thought hunting in a state like Conn would be very limited.  Are there many hunters there and much land that the average joe can hunt?

I need to get my film into the photo shop, and then I will see if someone can help me post some pics.

I was using a Remington 1100 12 gauge shotgun with Remington copper solids.

longwinters, I was hunting in Maryland. I hunt on leased farm. I have never looked into the State land in Maryland. :D

FILM??? Come on man, that's so 90's. I have read many of posts and you are always obtaining nice guns and Leupold scopes to top them off. It sounds to me like you need to trade in one of your guns for a NIKON digital camera.  :agree: :-D  :-D  :-D  :D

Come on guys, I own 2 digital cameras, but do I ever take them with me...NO I always have one of those disposable cameras in my back pack. Also I have a DVD recorder and I have yet to film any of my deer hunts. I have my Water buffalo hunt and my bear hunt on my DVD recorder. I just carry so much stuff in my back pack I don't have room for my big digital cameras. I need to get me one of them compact digital cameras. I will drop the hint to the wife for a Christmas gift.. :-D  :-D

My buddy took some digital pic's, I will have him e-mail them to me.
