Ruger Blackhawk Timing Question

Hello, folks! I have a Ruger Blackhawk that drops the bolt well before the cylinder lead notch. I have tried lengthening the plunger pin in the hammer, which made the timing PERFECT for a while, but then the bolt started dropping the same place again, as if one of the springs were losing strength. Isn't the timing somewhat a function of spring balance, as well, rather than an exact mechanical relationship? Should I try slightly strengthening the plunger spring, or lightening the bolt spring a tiny bit? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks! Regan

Not wanting to give the wrong info, I'd suggest you ask this over at Ruger Forum.  There's a few there that can diagnose these things pretty well and proberly give direction on how to solve the problem.
