I had been fighting a cold and working on a house I am building so my hunting was a bit light this year. On the 2nd last day of the season, I was installing circuit breakers when a pair of deer came into my N field. At 200+ yards, I couldn't justify using the 7-30. There was no cover for stalking closer. Grabbed the BAR 30-06 and made the shot. Deer dropped on the spot. Next year I hope the Contender gets the call, but for another year I have venison.
