Doing something different in cleaning
« on: November 27, 2005, 09:12:02 PM »
Well, I'm in between cleaning the rifles, and it's 3:00 am. Instead of using gun oil after I finish, I'm spraying Pam on the patches and running them through. Hope that will not make the oil smell to strong. Plus, when I bring them home in Jan., before I go to the woods, I will spray the gun sock they will be in, with earth scent.  Only when I'm situated up in the stand will I pull the gun sock off. 8)  What do you guys think?

isn't there water in Pam?     i'm only guessing, but i'd think that could be in there since Pam is probably vegetable-oil based.

i'd use something else if there's water in it.

good luck,

ss'

I have used pine scented BoreButter in my muzzleloaders for years, no reason why it wouldn't work in a centerfire bore, too. If you can find Eezox gun oil, it dries to a film and doesn't have any odor, it works well as a protectant, too, in fact, it's one of the best!!

I use pine scented Natural Lube Bore Butter also and it works as great on centerfire's as it does on my ML's. The Eezox sounds nice also, where do you get it?....<><....
