Bagged a nice 9 point
« on: November 27, 2005, 10:47:28 PM »
Opening day in Pennsylvania...

About 3 1/2 hours ago I shot a gorgeous 9 pointer Whitetail with my 25-06 using 120 grain Corlocts.

I saw a doe coming down the hill with a 4 pointer chasing her. While scoping the 4 point to see if it was legal, I noticed another deer following along. All attention was now on this 9 point as it was a monster! The thing trotted on up to me about 30 yards and took one in the ribs. Deer ran about 40 yards and dropped. No exit.

I would say this is the largest deer taken around my house in quite some time. A few 8 points taken years earlier fit inside this rack. It certainly isn't the biggest but I would say it runs a little over 200 lbs.

     :D
