Thanks Odinbreaker, It's an adaptor to convert 209 ignition to small rifle primers. Won't work for conventional #11's

Flame n Go

The original Flame n Go was made to replace the nipple on a conventional percussion arm. It was a multi piece affair that holds a small or large primer (I can't remember which) in a somewhat sealed manner. To use it you unscrew the top portion of the unit put the primmer inside and screw the top back on. Mountain State Muzzleloading Supplies carried them at one time, and I think Dixie Gun Works had them as well.

i have a adapter that takes small rifle primers.  I got it several years ago I think CVA put it out it fits my St Louis hawken.  You have to unscrew one part to put in the primer.  It works well but what a pain to unscrew and try to get that little primer in .  It did fire every time though.  I am not sure this is what you are describing.
