Encore Barrels?????????
« on: November 29, 2005, 03:45:48 PM »
I am going to take the plunge and buy an Encore pistol frame and add some barrels. I have a few questions for your very knowledgeable people.

I like the way the long rifle forends look on the pistol barrels. Is there a nickles worth of difference whether you use a ifle barrel and have it shortened or have a pistol barrel modified for the rifle forearm?
Does this long forearm have any affect on accuracy??

If you have a pics of yours that you would like to share, please feel free

I use a Virgin Valley barrel with a hanger bar system and rifle stock on my hunting pistol. I have also had a pistol barrel tapped to use the rilfe forearm. Just added the front hole now can use either pistol or rifle forearm. Fred at Bullberry has a hanger bar for the Contender or Encore and you can get rifle forearms to fit the bars from him.  Check the pictures to see my pistol with rifle forearm  under tech stuff at

I really like the longer forearm verses the little rubber thingy.  I have a 22-250 with the 3 forearm screw holes I am thinging of turning if you have an interest.
