What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Congratulations.  Thank you for your service. The adjustment may be rough.  I retired law enforcement.  I had to learn a whole new way of living.  Now, I'm just a mister.  I don't often get the sirs any more. I'm glad you made it to retirement.  I do hope the adjustments go well.

Take care and God bless.

Congratulations,
Thanks for 20 years of service to our great nation.   Best part of being retired is not having to set your butt down in the wet grass to due sit-ups, I never could find a dry spot.  Where you at in Jawja?

Thanks fellas. It feels good. Now I have an even harder job. I'm handling the kids while the wife is off finishing her Army career. She did 8 1/2 years, got out for the sake of kids for 4 years, now she is back in training, then off to Korea for a year. Please pray for her, and for us as a family.

BTW, I'm now back in Colorado. Forgot to update my profile.

Congratulations, and thank you for your service Mr. Reese, Sir!

And FYI I stayed at home for 8.5 yrs with my own kids when they were smaller.

Somebody recently told me that they thought being an at home parent was equivalent to climbing Mt. Everest... I don't know about that, but it certainly was not the easiest job I've ever had!

Though it was somewhat of a challenge, I have zero regrets about that time.

Cheers

Congrats and thanks for your service. Good luck to your wife and tell her thanks for her service as well. I did 7 years as an Army M.P. and got out out in Colorado and loved it out there. There used to be some good hunting on Ft. Carson. Are you in that area? I wonder how much it has changed out there. A friend of mine who just retired out of the A.F. was telling me that I wouldn't believe the growth.Enjoy your retirement. You have earned it.

Congratulations! Welcome to the ranks of the retired.

I finished out 21 years in the Army in 2002. I'm incredibly thankful for the time I now have to spend with my kids and wife. It's amazing that it seems like such a long time ago.

I got rid of almost everything Army, and didn't even step foot on a Military reservation for over a year. Having been in the Army since 18, I needed to break free and just be me.

Best of luck in your new role as house dad!
