New Ruger Mini 14 opinions wanted please.
« on: December 01, 2005, 10:29:21 AM »
I am thinking about getting a new Mini 14 Ranch Rifle in .223 (matte stainless with hardwood stock and grip).  I have heard they have put new sights on this rifle.  Has anybody out there bought the new 2005 version?  Any issues with accuracy etc...  I am able to get a new one for $600 which I think is a good price.  This will be my trunk gun that I plan to take to the range and shoot varmints not farther than 100 yards.  Any input / feedback on the new Ruger would be greatly appreciated.

Best,

Mark

Might be a good price for Kali-------but approaching AR price around here.

I paid $437 for a blued Std model in late '04-----they came out with the ''new'' ones and jacked the price $100 bucks

The Mini will do the jobs you have in mind with no problems.

Not a Mini hater---as I have 2------but also have 4 AR's.

I haven’t shot or even held the new Mini but Ruger did add a longer, heavier barrel and different sights which should improve the accuracy.  At least it’s a move in the right direction.  I prefer the Mini to any AR, or one of it’s clones, out there.  Lawdog
