For someone that is new to handgun hunting where does on go for hand gun technique?I mean all the practice in the world does not do you much good if you do not have the basics. Any suggestions? DVD's or book's...I could careless about defensive/ home defense shooting I am more geared for handgun hunting. I really enjoy bowhunting and I thought handguning might be fun. I currently have two pistols at my disposal Buckmark Bullseye and SRH .44

First off Welcome to Graybeard. Look for a local range and get with a shooting instructor and tell them what you are looking to accomplish.  :D

Welcome Rommel1, Go to your local gun shop or sporting store and visit with the people that habit the place and visit about the hunting and try to find some one that knows what he is doing. You have two good pistols to start your hunting with, Your Buckmark is a great target and small game gun and the Super Red Hawk 44 is great for about anything you might want to try. Stay Safe, Have fun, Enjoy your handguns.............Joe.......... :D

If you bow hunt you know the basics. All you need to do know is learn to hit what your shooting at. Alot of practice at different ranges and at moveing targets is nessary. I would recomand that you DO NOT  put a scope on your handguns untill you can shoot well with iron sights. Handgun scopes have a very small field of view and the distance from the eye is very critical, far harder to use than a rifle scope. When you think you can hit your target start hunting small critters with the .22. The main thing is practice.
