I just bought a used GreyHawk at the gunshow.  Anybody have any idea as to what the twist of the barrel is?

I beleive the twist is 1:48 like the New Englanders. Jack.

A buddie of mine has one ,the gun will shoot heavy charges of goex and a round ball oustanding
jack is right 1 in 48 twist

Doc: I have a new wood black walnut stock if you are interested  in replaces that plastic stock that comes with the grayhawk :D

I stopped in a local shop one day and there were two on the rack. One scoped and the other they asked for $75. By the time I got back from the ATM it was gone.  :gulp:

$75???  I thought I did good at $140!  I still think I did good.  I got this rifle and a 21.5" Bullberry Contender barrel in 17 Rem. for $325 for the both so it is hard to say what I really got it for by itself.  On the Bullberry site the 17 Rem barrel sells for close to $400.

Lonewolf, let me think about the stock.  Don't know how this one is going to kick yet.  The synthetic stocks are sometimes lacking for a good recoil pad.

I'm glad it has a 1 in 48 twist.  It should shoot Powerbelts pretty good.  My Hawken and Renegade both shoot them very well and they have the same twist.

I still have it.  It doesn't shoot the Powerbelts worth a flip.  I guess the twist is too fast.  It is 1 in 20 or 1 in 24, I never was exactually sure.  It DOES shoot Ball-ets and heavier conicals good though.  If this Grey Hawk shoots well the WMC may be on the trading block.

I own a Greyhawk bought it new in 96 I shoot 80grains of Goex and a patched ball. Deadly accurate at 75 yards havent checked it out any further. I have also ran 350 grain buffalo bullets through it with comparable results. The only thing I done to it was installed a musket nipple on it. Great gun in my opinion.
