DIY Fixes for Remington 7400 wandering zero.
« on: December 04, 2005, 11:37:11 AM »
Have any of you home gunsmiths that hang out in this forum came up with any soultions to minimize the effects of barrel heat on POI on remington 7400 rifles? Overall I'm pretty happy with my new remington accuracy wise 2" at100 but to achieve this the barrel has to cool off completely between shots.

Rem 7400 accuracy and heat-up

I am working on my 7400 to improve accuracy and lessen heat-up wandering although it doesn't really affect hunting. My 7400 will group 150gr and 165gr at 1in or under. However, after 5-6 shots the groups move. Also, some loads move groups. Other chores have slowed this project but I hope to continue after the holidays.
