No pic. but I got a doe open day, with my S&W 657  .41 mag. Remington 210gr.sp over 20gr.of H-110. 1/2" hole in and 2" hole going out. Destroyed the lungs{mush}. She was broadside @ about 30 yds. and ran in a circle around my stand then dropped.  Hope to get out again this week-end. Richard..

Nice job on the deer. The idea of getting a 41 mag to go with my 44 and 45 colt is getting harder to resist. Maybe next spring

Congratulations, both the .41Magnum and you performed well. I hope there was never a doubt that the .41Magnum was up to the task. Now, go out and whack another for the freezer. :D

Way to go!  I have not gotten any deer yet this year.  I did shoot a nice size raccoon yesterday, though.  I was walking down a trail with my S&W 657 Mt. Gun and stumbled upon him late in the afternoon.  I was loaded with 210 grain hard cast swc over 9.2 grains of Unique, entry hole same size as exit hole.  I am going to have the hide tanned.  What a way to extend my hunting season, I am going to carry my S&W 686 and hope to get a fox and coyote to go with it.

I sure like seeing items on the 41.  Especially successful comments. Congratulations.

Raging480 - how do you like that 657 mt gun?  I'm wishing I'd picked one up a few years ago when I saw it in a shop.  How do you think it would hold up to heavy loads like Federal Castcore 250 and Corbon 250-265?

I have a 4 inch 57 but I sure wish for stainless when the weather goes to pot.

I haven't had it too long, but I had always wanted one.  With it's slimmed down configuration, I don't plan on shooting heavy loads in it, that load I use is about 1100 fps.  I do use my unfluted 657 CH II with heavy loads, similar to the Fed. Castcore.

Nice going....

I hunted a few days with a Ruger BH 4 5/8" but didn't see anything when carrying the handgun. It was loaded with 210 grain Gold Dot HPs powered by 23 grains of H110.

I also have one of the Mountain Guns...great gun to carry. Heavy loads in the MG are not bad at all. Next I would like to try one of the M357 PD Airlites. Shot my friend's M329 PD and really liked it...

:cb2: Like Dand, I always like to hear about good things happening with .41 mags. Didn't get one until quite recently and have not had a chance to hunt with it, though I have found a veeeery accurate load for it. Just can't imagine why more people don't use it. Congratulations. Go kill another one for all of us who won't be able to get out and hunt this year!

Old Griz, most loads for the .41mag. are real accurate?
