Assisted the game warden the other night.
Seems some folks decided to go deer hunting at 1:30 am on a FM road.
They were not good at it since the noise from a 30-06 carries a bit  .
Farmers/ranchers called in worried about livestock.

 Lock em up and throw the key away.  I have a real problem with night hunters/poachers.  If I see them I call the game warden too.

If folks need the meat to feed their family, all they have to do is ask and I would either allow them to kill one, or kill one for them.  But let me catch you poaching, and you are in a heap of trouble.

If interested, will let y'all know what the judge passes down as it is public record. This was a case of "Fun" on their part instead of "needs".

The "hunters feeding the hungry" programs where hunters donate game to the needy play in the media on the local level.

Accidently shoot livestock and you get that feller up north painting everything orange and getting national attention.

I agree, people are no longer going to put up with the roadhunting and trespassing

In this day and age, so many people would just turn over and go back to sleep with an "It's not my problem" attitude.  Thank you for not being like that!  We all have to do our part.  Thats what keeps Texas great!

Lots of people hunt hogs down in S. TX at night, but when I heard shots recently I put a call in to the game warden.
When  I talked to him, he told me that it had already been called in and he had already visitied that camp.
Deer hunting and deer poaching is serious business in TX.

:x PEPAW you are correct about deer hunting and poaching being a serious problem in Texas.  The sad thing about it, killing the deer is an ego trip for most of these hunters.  A large number are trophy hunters and they often leave every thing but the head in the field.

It would be a different story if they needed the meat, I may be able to condone poaching or night hunting if that were, in fact, the case.  Otherwise, in my opinion, throw the book at them. :x

Oh yeah. If I was a game warden I would hang out on I-10 both West and East of San Antonio. Plenty of trucks after trucks with the back end full of horns with full bodied deer still on em. Ya know good and well the body is just there until they can make it to their taxidermist. Who is gonna eat the meat off that thing after its been in the back of a truck for 5-8hrs?    It's amazing to me what people will resort to just to have something to hang up on a wall.
