700 ADL info

I bought one on closeout at Academy here in Texas for $268.00 which I think is a good price for a new rifle. Actually I put it on layaway as this time of year I spend my cash on hunting. Thought I'd ask a few questions about the rifle. What is the barrel length and rifling twist. The new SPS lists a 24 inch barrel and a seemingly fast 9 1/8th inch twist. I have owned a couple of 700 Remingtons in the past and they were all accurate rifles having triggers that can be adjusted to a reasonable pull. Any comments on the last of the ADL's would be apreciated.

I also purchased an ADL a while back. It's a 270 with a laminate stock. I believe your barrel length will be a handy 22". Not sure on your twist rate but if it is a 30 06 probably 1 in 10. Good luck hunting and by the way mine likes the Federal premium Nosler 150s better than any of the rem corelocks. Oddly, my 300 rum likes the Federal NPs better than the Rem with Swift Scirrocos but not by much.

I forgot mention this rifle is a 243 and is the synthetic model. The last one I had was a 223 and it had a 24 inch barrel.

I would think your 243 ADL will have a barrel length of 22" and the twist will be 9-1/8".

Good, I really did not want to have to cut the barreland recrown it. I didn't care for the 24 inch length on the 223 either. I have to admit the 223 really shot well, if this 243 is half as accurate it will still be a MOA rifle or pretty close.
