Martini single shot.....
« on: March 08, 2003, 02:39:37 AM »
I've been buying Martini single shot rifles lately.  Sporters only. Here's a pic. of one (hopefully).  It's a 45/70, Shilen barrelled, octagon, very nice.
If anyone has a 17 cal. or a 25 cal. Martini for sale, let me know please.  I have 8 of them now, but none in those cal.s

That is one mean looking rifle you have there!

There are a lot of Martini converted sporting rifles here in Australia. ie: 17Hornet, .17Bee, .22LR, .22Magnum, .22Hornet, .222Rimmed, .357Mag, .44 Mag, .303 and .45-70 to name a few! Did hear a rumour of a .405Win on a Martini action but nothing to confirm. They can be readily found, however I think importation into the U.S maybe quite a chore. If it is a consideration, the exchange rate certainly works in your favour! I would imagine Sth Africa would have a good source of Martini actioned sporters too...

A few sources:

Jansa Arms - http://www.geko.net.au/~jansa/menu1

Martini Gallery - http://64.177.205.5/martini/gallery.htm  [this at times has Martinis for sale across the globe!]

I am having built a Martini Cadet actioned .218Bee Improved. This will be similar to a schuetzen rifle in style and will hopefully be ready by Easter to go targeta few Foxes and rabbits... I also have a Rosier Martini Actioned Sporting rifle - circa 1870s in .577-450 cal. I could post a pic if I knew how, but am near computer illiterate here... Will be selling this soon to make way for a Sharps 74 project...

cheers,

First you need to know which large action Martini you have.  the Greener or the Martini Henry(Enfield).

If you want sporter stocks go here.
