grouse hunting

Anyone hunt in or around east tennessee for grouse? I haven't found many birds at all this year, the ones I have found are very nervous and flush before the dog  gets wind of them. I have noticed allot more predators in places i hunt, hawks, owls, coyotes, bobcats ect. Do you think that has allot to do with it.

I'm farther south than you and haven't seen any grouse at all........No bird dogs, but would occasionally see a few while deer hunting........I have seen a fair number of turkeys.......I've talked to several hunters that have seen bobcats.......

I think your right about predators.......hopefully the state will change the rules for hunting at night........maybe that would help with the coyotes, foxes, and bobcats......I think that small game in general is suffering from the problem.
