Call around and find a nearby FFL dealer who does transfers.  That is, they officially run them through the books for a reasoable fee.  Most, in my experience, charge $25 - $40.  That is in addition to cost of gun and shipping.  Still, it allows you to shop nationwide at a discount.  Better yet, get a C&R license.  I got a beautiful CZ52 from SOG for under $100 + $20 overnight shipping.  Came with holster, cleaning rod and an extra clip!

Black Bear Arms has outstanding CZ-52.
I bought a couple and they are as stated - "unissued" as shown on their site.

Tom,
Apply for a C&R license and save the transfer price. It's only $ 30 and doesnt take long.

Tom,
What part of SE Mo are you in?  I'm way down on the AR/TN border and got my C&R because there weren't any dealers around.  Especially for milsurp stuff.

It only took about a month to get my FFL03, the Missouri AFT agent seems to be on the ball.

I got my CZ52 for less than $120 w/ shipping, which more than paid for the license.
