Shooting MOA at 100yds is one thing, Being able to do it with a pistol at 600yds is a whole other ball game. I know there are a few who can do it but I personally don't know any. I know I can't and I consider myself a pretty good shot. There is a guy by the name of Bower I think that holds some kind long range shooting clinics. If your really serious you might want to find out more about him. 600yd MOA with a pistol is just not that common. It aint common in too many rifles. Certainly not with any thing your going to get right off the shelf. I would love to try some of that kind of shooting myself but I don't have any place handy to do it. Good luck,  KN

I shoot a 15" Bullberry 6.5 Super Bower at our clubs 500 yard varmint fun matches (2X4X6 blocks - shoot-offs on edge), and also in infrequent 1000 yard fun matches at another club (6' target, 10" bull).   Shot prone with mechanical rests, bipods or bags legal.   Off a Bower Rest, it at least equals the rifles and XP's at 500 (beats most of them - wins some of the time), and gives them a hell of a run at 1000.    Have used everything from a 10X pistol to 36X rifle scope on this barrel.

It'll push 85's over 3000 fps, 100's to 2800, 120's to near 2700, and 140's near 2400 out of the short tubes, and there are some great bullets made in this caliber.

Just for S&G...  in 1995, N.D. Mandan shot a 2 5/8" 9 shot group at 650 yards (IMR4350, 140 gr. Sierra @ 2290 fps) in a 3-5 MPH wind with a 14" 6.5SB pistol.

One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

As far as handgun scopes go you will want the 3-12 Burris LER or the 10 power Burris I.E.R..  Leupold's rifle scope have the longest eye relief that I am aware of that are suitable for long range work.  Probably at ranges from 500-1,000 I would prefer the 6.5 cartridges by Don Bower or those like it in the Contender.  If you are talking Encore your possibilities open up a lot more.  Bolt guns are more rigid in the action and do have an inherrant advatage all things being equal.
By the way, the clinic this year will probably be July 7-10 (dates are not yet set in stone) in Alliance, NE (1,000 yard range).  If you are interested email me ernie1@ourtownusa.net
