Well I just picked up 2 PC 7.5 inch 460 Mags today
« on: December 10, 2005, 11:15:25 AM »
I went to the range to shoot my S&W 460 PC 10 5/8 inch, and they just got in 2 PC 7.5 inch black with stainless PC 460 Mags. Well, I like them better than the 10 5/8 PC460 so I did a trade. Well, I got a great deal and did not loose a penny off my trade. But the kicker of it all is, the guns are sequentially numbered. I am going to shoot one and leave the other unfired in the box. I am sure one day I will take it out and fire it.  :D

Redhawk, you sure are a sucker for those cannons!   Sounds like you did good, now you have one to fondle and shoot, and one to lock away in the dark, lonely recesses of your vault.  Should you shoot the second one?  I'd say no, but it's your choice.  Maybe you could use it to help finance the purchase of your next Hardenkickenloudenboomer!

I bet you have a 105mm howitzer in your garage that you're trying to find ammo for........ :D   Ya do, dontcha?

Yea, I am a sucker for them big boomers. The guy at the range said he never seen anyone shoot the big bores as much as I do. I will sit down and shoot 100 rounds through my 500 Mag. Muzzle blast is my drug of choice.  :D

Every time I read one of these posts on the big bore cannons I get the itch to go out and handle one.  I think I may go out next month after the Christmas credit card bill is paid off and look into a 460...Gotta love those cannons.  Hey Redhawk...How is the trigger pull on those big boomers?

The trigger pull in double action is a little stiff and should be. You don't want to squeeze the trigger to hard after the first shot which will make you shot the second and even the third round. People have a tendency to put a death grip on the big boomers and inadvertently pull the trigger.  But the double action mode is not bad at all. Now the single action mode is very light and smooth, they are the Performance Center model's, but even the standard 460 Mag has a great trigger.

WNY W, don't fight it.  You know you want it.  You only live once, right?  Do you honestly think if you bought it, shot it, and loved it, you'd go to your grave, saying, "My one big regret is buying that darned Smith and Wesson......"  Nah.  I don't think so either!  A Man's Gotta Do.......you know the rest.

You will be surprised at the trigger pull. S&W did a great job with the gun.  Why do you think I own 2 460 PC models and the 500 Mag S&W also. But if I had to choose between the 500 Mag and 460 Mag, I would got with the 460 no questions asked.  :D Even the non PC models have great triggers.

I have three 500's.  Two of them are Performance Center guns and the other is just regular 4" barrel.  I'm not sure I can tell the difference between the triggers on them.
