Searching for plans for homemade pistol rest
« on: December 11, 2005, 12:57:01 AM »
Some time ago while surfing, I ran across a picture and short article about a homemade pistol rest made entirely of wood.  As best as I  remember it had two separate parts.  One part had a V notch and an inclined base, this part supported the barrel or forend.  The other part supported the shooter's hand or pistol grip and that part slid up or down on the other component's incline.  It was described as easy to make and worked as well as any other rest tried.  If anyone knows any information about this rest or can direct me to the links to find it again, I would very much appreciate it.  I have tried several search engines with no luck.  It may have even been here at GBO, but I have not been able to find it yet.

I have just topped my TC G2 14" 44 mag with a Bushnell Trophy 2x6x32 and can't wait to tune it up.

Thanks for any info that may be passed along.

It's hard to beat good old sandbags. I use a 2x6 nailed to the skinny edges of two 2x4s to make a little platform for my sandbags.
