did anybody ever here of c&h dies ? where are they from and are they good? at 7/8 -14 they should fit rockchucker ?

C&H Dies have been around a LONG time. The company went broke as they over built there presses and it is hard to sell again to loaders when they do not need new..They since have been bought and make super parts as well. I have one of there H-Beam presses that I use daily along with there dies. They are great parts and I would not stray from them.Here is a link to them.. regards, Hammerdown

I have a set of 500 Mag dies from them. They are well made dies and fit standard presses with 7/8 -14. They cost a lot more than standard dies, but in my opinion are a little to high in price.

I bought a set of C&H 35 Whelen dies in the late 1980s. I still have them and the quality is excellent.

Great quailty dies have a set in 270win and 300WBY.

Expensive my foot! I used C&H dies (along with just about every other major manufacturer and several custom shops) The are a heck of a lot better quality than RCBS and less expensive to boot. Now, I'm not talking about common 9mm, .45 ACP, or .30-06 dies; for that you can certainly buy them from Hornady and others much cheaper. But if you have need for anything custom or wildcat (including things like the AI's) C&H is the way to go.

Well if you think $101.45 is not expensive for the 500 Mag dies, you are sadly mistaken. And to boot, I had to send back the seating die because it was not machined correctly. :roll: No how are they cheaper than RCBS???

I have bought and continue to buy a lot of dies from them. I'm sure there will be an occasional problem, everyone has them.
How are they cheaper than RCBS? Again, I am not talking about common calibers, Dealer list on RCBS for anything in groups G through X run from 75.50 to 324.40 PER DIE with shipment in 6-18 months. I can buy the whole set from C&H made to tighter tolerances, and (shipped next day in most cases) at longest 6 weeks for 100-120 dollars. That is how they are better. Beyond that even with the common calibers the tolerances are tighter, the internal finish is much better, and they are hardened to a higher level. Some folks care little about the die quality and for that they can buy Lee dies, myself I prefer to shell out a little (as do my customers) for quality.

I think the 500 Mag are common dies. I also have a set from RCBS that I paid like $35.00 for them, and they work every bit as good as the CH dies at a third of the price. But I won't argue with the custom dies or wildcat die prices.
