New Shotgun

Ok, I will admit it, I can't spend all of the the money in the family budget on hunting stuff. (Rats.)  I had a budget of $300-350 to spend on a shotgun, be it whatever I found.  I went to Gander to look for a used 12 ga. auto, maybe removeable chokes, maybe on a stretch, a camo finish.  Ya right.
I guess  I had been out of the market for a while, no good guns in that price range...

Then, I was bent on the Wal Mart Charles Daley black plastic auto 12, or a wood and steel Remington pump.

On a whim, I went into Sportsman's Warehouse, gave the counter guy a list of (would be nice) specs, and he ruled out an auto right away, sorry Jeff, you ain't got the bucks this time around. They don't have any used guns at all, but the guns he's putting on the counter (new) are the same price as Gander's used guns. Remingtons, Mossbergs, the whole shot...

Then seemingly out of nowhere, he plunks down a Stoeger arms 12 Ga pump in cattail camo.....nice gun!  Carbon fiber stock, Hi Viz bead, and a beefy length of pull.  Nice...too bad it's in catttail.

Plop!  here's one in Advantage....sold! Long story not so short, it retailed for $289, has 5 chokes, skeet, IC,Mod., Full, and a turkey choke!!!  'Course I had to go in there 15minutes before closing...in10 mins. they had me cleared with the ATF and the NSA, and checking out.

Heck on the the way to the checkout the counter guy throws me a $10 gift certificate out of his own wallet to be deducted from the purchase price.  I got the gun, chokes, a box of low brass Winchester #6's for rabbits, and great service for $289 total!!!   I know where I am going back to! :D
Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff
