Scope and Mount for a 22
« on: December 13, 2005, 03:57:36 AM »
I just bought a new heavy lug six inch barrel for my .22 and now want to add a scope to my original six inch barrel. Its a standard lug solid rib shroud in blue. Any suggestions on what mount will work best. I'm also on the fence between a long eye relief scope or a red dot. Let me know what you all think.

Scope and Mount for 22

Hi Joe: Seems to me this would be a personal preference to choose between optics.  My preference would be an Aim Point or red dot because
I lean toward open sights as opposed to scope magnification.  However,
I may be leading you astray since I do not know the application you are planning for that 22.  Will you be planning for plinking, targets, or small game hunting ? If you have a vent rib, you can use a weaver type mount.
Enjoy shooting your 22 for a while before making your decision.  70
