Wondering if anyone has any experience with this bullet?  What loads you recommend.  Shooting through VSSF.   26 inches of barrel 1:12 twist.

Although I am a Barnes bullet fan, I don't use them in my 22-250. I use my 22-250 as a varmint gun and I like the explosiveness of the Nosler BT. But if I was looking to keep hides I would use the FMJ's. So I could not give you any good feedback on the Barnes 53 gr. XLC. :D

What are you going to use them on?

To heavy for varmint hunting and I seeing that I don't consider any .224 centerfire a big game cartridge I can't help you beyond this.  Lawdog

This is my predator/varmit rig. I use the Black Hills Gold Barnes XLC in my 270, and love the accuracy and bullet performance.  I am a rookie at reloading and an working up a load for my pelt getter.  Was hoping to gather some information from other loader's experience rather than just randomly trying loads.  I am currently using 50gr hornady v-max polys factory loads, just wondered if the Barnes was worth giving a shot.   What are some bullets and loads yall have had success with?
