Dell Laptop battery Recall
« on: December 17, 2005, 08:37:57 AM »
Dell announced a recall of Notebook Computer Batteries on December 16, 2005.  The batteries overheat and pose a fire risk.

Take a look at your Dell battery and there is a white tag on it with a battery number.  Call Dell at 866-342-0011.  The batteries in questioned were sold between October 5, 2004 and October 13, 2005.

I consider my laptop as one of my outdoor toys because of the interface with my gps units and the mapping software.  Then there is my link back to Graybeard Outdoors Forum when I am away from home.

Hopefully the Dell website will provide more information in the days to come.  Just think starting your campfire with your laptop battery! :)

msar:  Thanks for the link.  One of my two batteries is part of the recall.
