Ruger laminate stock without cheek piece
« on: December 17, 2005, 10:07:22 AM »
Hi Guys,
I am in the planning stages for my first custom/or semi custom rifle and I am looking for a laminated stock for a ruger M77 tang safety that is very close in configuration to the factory stock. I like a high straight stock without a cheekpiece and narrow through the grip.

I see both Boyds and Richards Microfit offer stocks at very reasonable prices but both have the cheek pieces. Is there another source that I should know about?

I would likely just remove the cheek piece from a stock I liked. As with thinning the grip, that's a fairly seasy alteration..  Tightening the grip curvature can be a lot more difficult. You can also work fromm a blank if you wish. Laminated blanks are available..  You might also check out a place called 'ElkRidge' for you laminated stock.
