leagality of mail order air guns?

Are they classified like powder guns and have to be shipped to a FFL? or can you order them direct?thanks. sj

Most places don't require any special permits. A couple states such as NJ and MI do have restrictions on some or all types of airguns, and some cities do also.

To add on to what dave said. There are no Federal laws about shipping airguns, you can buy direct from a maker or a private individual and have it shipped to you with no FFL involvement. Shipping can be a hassle depending on what carrier is used so you will have to check their regs also. But.....some states and cities have their own restrictions so it would be wise to check with your local law enforcement.
