stevens 200/ 22-250
« on: December 18, 2005, 03:22:20 PM »
I have been wanting to get the Stevens in 22/250 Has anyone heard about accuracy of these rifles in this caliber.  I have been wanting a 22/250 savage for awile but I seen this rifle and the price of the stevens would work better for the type of hunting I do,  this way I wouldn't worry about scraching and dinging it up.  Any input would be great. Thanks

It should shoot great, almost all of them do.  Only thing is that a 22 inch barrel wastes a lot of performance in 22-250, so the velocity will be a little low for a 22-250, but still a lot higher than a .223.  Should be a great rifle.  Larry

My buddy bought a 22-250 the same timeI bought my 200 in a25-06. Both are shooters. the 25-06 will shoot 5 cent piece groups at 100 no matter what bullet you run thru. My buddy is also very pleased with his 22-250. gun was very accurate out of box. he is now tring to work up hand load. IMO it's a hard deal to beat.  Price + accuracy+ not the purrty sister on the block = stevens 200

:D I bought the 22/250.  I put my 6-18x50 banner scope on it.  Sighted it in a inch high @ 100yds got little over an inch grouping using winchester value pack ammo.  Can't wait to get dies anf figure out a accurate load for this thing.  If you guys have any pet loads, I'm all ears.  I have already gotten some blood on this rifle, popped a crow @ 150yd, seems to make a good, accurate, easy handling predator rifle. Thanks for any input.

Yeah, I go one also in 22-250 last week.  Maybe in 5 or 6 weeks I'll get it out to the range.  In the mean time, tinker tinker tinker.....
I aim to please - but often miss.
