Site down all day and you guys didn't even notice
« on: December 20, 2005, 07:41:26 PM »
Ya'll musta been busy with other things and didn't even notice the site was down most of the day. I figured for sure when I logged in tonight I'd have a thread here asking what the heck happened.

Answer is it's way over my head. Matt knows. The company that hosts us had a problem with the server is the best way I can describe it and neither of us was available to get with them. Why you ask?

I passed out this morning when I got up from my desk after I logged off after my morning check of the site. Dunno what happened. I got up, stretched, felt the lights going out and I reached for the door to catch myself. Next thing I knew I was sitting on my butt in the floor between two chairs. I think I hit the back of my head pretty hard on the desk as the pull out for the keyboard was messed up big time. My head has been hurting a lot ever since also. I went to bed and stayed there most of the day.

Mac11700 called not too long after I laid down and told me about it. I asked Faye to call Matt and rolled over to try to get some sleep. Seems he was out and about all day trying to earn a living. Tonight after I got up and found it still down I called Matt, he called out Host and they got it up and running again.

Sorry it took so long but some times stuff happens. Today was not a good one for me or Matt so it quitting today caught us both off guard.

As fer me I don't know how I iz rat now. The head still is throbbing. Dunno if it will be better or worse tomorrow. Got a feeling some parts of me might be sore tomorrow as I know I had to hit hard. I weight 265 so that much falling don't land softly. No clue what happened. Just one of the things going on with me of late. The doctors haven't figured it all out yet but are still working on it.

I was wondering why it didn't come up this after noon when I got up, but didn't think about it much as I was still waking up.

But then again since I work 3rd shift I only get on here late at night or early morning anymore.

Bill, has the doctor checked your blood sugar levels yet?

Hi

I noticed.  I thought you had fallen victim to hackers again.  I am a stroke survivor.  I hope you got a C scan to eliminate that as a cause for passing out.  Anyway, my hopes and prayers are with you.

Take care and God bless.

I hope you and your head are better real soon GB. And as far as us not noticing, boy you must have really hit your head hard.  WE NOTICED!!!, I could not get on all day.  I even got an e-mail from another member checking if it was his computer or if I was having the same problem. Take care of yourself first Bill and thanks for the efforts of both you and Matt. Merry Christmas to you and Mrs. GB, and to Matt....<><....

Noticed sure I noticed. I was on reading a thread in the trad muzzle loader forum went to go to MMl and got server not found. didn't note the time.  got off the computer and watched a movie with godzilla after we did some errands.

GB what are we gonna do with you beating up on a computer desk with your head is not conducive to a harmonious outcome for the head or the hardware.  Prayers are with you.

Bill,

There are so many sites having trouble it's hard to figure out if I'm coming or going and if the 'puter is messed up or what!  It may be just another lesson in patience for all of us and the lesson probably isn't being learned too well if we get frantic about what we have no control over.

Most of the pills I take have dizziness warnings, maybe you got up too fast and contributed to the problem?

Bill you have had a estremily important warning ,get a second opinion but get on it right of way.I had TURP 6/2 and the surgeon over cut and caused scar tissue to block me so on 11/28 I had the "Blue Blazer" {Blue Indigo laser] and had to wear a Foley for 14 days until I cut it and pulled myself. All you younguns out there drink plenty of water and Cranberry juice and take Saw Palmetto over the counter capsules until they come up with a better cure.Torture,I would tell anybody anything during this last trial to get that Foley out.

IW I don't have a clue what you just said. None of that is even remotely familiar to me. My only response is huh?

As to the site we're not at all sure what's going on. The first failure yesterday was a server problem. Then we had another short down period last night very late. I called and by the time I got a tech online it was back up. He said he thought that one was an isue with our software as he could find no server issue. Then it went out again today. I called Matt and now it's up again but seems rather sluggish. He'll be over in a little while and I'll ask him about it. Dunno what's going on.

I have a major high blood pressure issue. I take five medications to keep it in check. The last one the doctor added maybe doing too good a job. It's quite low now, well below what used to be considered normal but the doctor is happy with it there.

A side effect is that at times if I get up too fast or if I do as I did yesterday and stretch just after getting up at times for just a moment it seems like I'm gonna black out. Well yesterday for the first time I really did. Usually it's a momentary thing and I just hold on to something a moment and it passes. Didn't happen that way yesterday and the floor caught me.

My head is still aching a bit today at the back. Dunno if I hit it or what. No knot tho.

My blood sugar level is watched very closely as dad had diabetes. So far mine is just within normal levels but is always border line. Just went thru a whole series of blood testing and all was normal. My cholesterol is now down to 150, down from 250. Had the old ticker checked this year and all is OK there. Worse blockage was 20% and they don't work on them at that level. Others were extremely minor. We're working now to find out if my lungs are OK as the shortness of breath issue just won't go away.

Yeah something is wrong for sure but so far it's eluding the doctors.

I have the same problem and ESPECIALLY if I take aspirin. Be careful there. I can walk and go out before I can catch myself but it happens most if I get up quickly and walk.
It is a danged strange feeling and I can sure sympathize.
Thought ya'll might have been doing some of the things you have talked about. Not to worry, THINGS do happen.
Have a Merry and a Happy if we do not see you til later.

GB, was able to log on at 11:05 p.m.  (pst) last night and then coundent get on this am till a little before noon (pst).
You had to mention about blacking out, When I got up this morning started to get out of bed and the world started to go around. Sat back down till the world slowed down. It cleared up pertty much within the first 1/2 hr. Mentioned it to my wife as she is an ex LVN. (witch doctor  :) )she said in my case it was probably Positional Hypotension (?). Am due for a physical the 30th of this mo. and see my cardioligst the 10th of Jan. Will be informing both of them of what happen. My cardioligst says my colestrol lever is almost 2 low. Hang in their, and get well.

Gun Runner, I don't think this is the same thing as Bill's, but I've been dealing with the dizzies for the last couple months, BPVP may be worth checking out....so far it hasn't helped me, but it doesn't cost a thing and worse case scenerio, you'll just get dizzie again doing the excercises!!

I noticed too. Defraged files, compressed files, created a new restore point, and was just getting ready to run Norton to see about a virus when I found this post. Like some of the others I take BP meds. Doc said anytime I get out of bed or start to stand up to be ready for the dizziness. Hope it is nothing serious and wishing you the best. Wishing you and Faye a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Thanks to both you and
Matt.

Hope you're feeling better. Take car of yourself. As far as the site goes, as of this hour we are still having issues. Extremely difficult to post a reply. In fact, this might not even make it. God bless and Merry Christmas.
