Marv, it's gonna be broke until Matt can get to it sometime this weekend and fix it. He'll need to shut it down completly, so be prepared for it.

Merry Christmas!!!

GB...
Hope you are feeling better and have a very merry Christmas as I am enjoying mine with wife and children.  Dont ever think for a minute that I dont notice when this wonderful site has a problem.  I am learning paitence in my middle years and know that you and your support team provide excellent service to us gun cranks.  At first I thought the site not comming in was the result of my wife uploading some kind of new search engine...thanks for letting us know!  I use to be able to run up hills with a full ruck sack and rifle...now Im happy to see the top of the hill!  Keep the Faith, your eyes on the skyline and your powder dry! :D

Bill,
Hope things are goin' ok today with you.  I used to get those dizzy spells when I stood up too fast outa the bath.  After I quit smokin' and drinkin', and started working hard (physically) that went away. I still get a tinge of it once in a while, but not as bad.  Take a lot of hebal stuff also.
I managed to finally post my first pics here last night around 2245 of my NEF with the Maple stock, but it took a good while.  Got a few replies from Tim and Mac, among others.  The post is missing this mornin, and it's still hard to navigate around this site.  Stangely enough the knife pics I posted are still there.  Dunno what's goin on, but I think I'll wait a bit before I re-post those pics.  Take it easy today, man.  Merry Christmas to ya'll.

The site still is having some problems as far as I can tell...I have to sometimes try 4 or 5 times to open a post before it finnally does...and then it takes a real long time to open..or it times out before it post for you and then you wind up with double and triple posting...I know Matt will get it fixed before long...and then it all will be back to normal...

Merry Christmas All :D

Nuttin's been done yet. We'll be sure ta let ya know when it has. But it actually does seem to be doing pretty OK tonight. Didn't look to see how many folks are on.

I'm hoping Matt gets around to it tomorrow. He's had less than four hours sleep in the last 48+ and has to go back to GA tomorrow for awhile to arrange for some needed equipment for the job he will hopefully be finishing up on Tuesday. When he left here awhile ago he was planning to crash. Said that if he wakes up in time he might do the work before he heads to GA. If not it ain't happening until he gets back best case.

Definitely noticed the problem with the site... wasn't entirely DOWN, per se. but it sure wasn't feeling too good. I did manage get on through perseverance (stubborn SOB) but navigating was another story...some pages came up with time, others no dice.

I'm certainly relieved everything's working well again. I'm new to GB, but PLEASE don't take it away! This is the finest dang place for sharing info and know-how about firearms going.

Sorry to hear about the tumble Bill. If you plan on trying that stuntwork stuff regularly consider wearing head protection!

Seriously though, hope your noggin' is OK. As for the root of the problem, sounds like orthostatic hypotension, so some low BP thing or other must be initiating the faints.

Glad to see the site is back up and moving.

I have had major problems trying to get the site to load for me for at least two weeks.  Usually, the homepage would load, but I wouldn't be able to click on any of the threads and it became almost impossible to post a reply.  I would get the "Page Not Available" screen, and this was with four separate computers in four different locations, all running cable or faster.

Yeah... since I come here almost EVERY day, I noticed the site was "down"... but there wasn't anything I could do about it, so I waited for it to re-open.

Bill... sounds like your "new" bp meds may be the "culprit", but don't fail to follow up on it and make SURE it's the bp meds and not something else.

Enduring all those tests and taking meds is no fun, but it sure beats the heck outta the "alternative" (AKA "departing this world"), my friend!!!

If I had my way the watched topics wouldn't return.    But I'm afraid my vote don't seem to count for much on that. Matt thinks it should be and since he's the one who does the techinical stuff he adds it and I don't know how to delete it. This is one area he kinda ignores my input. There are two or three such areas.

I honestly don't know if all the features will be added back or not. If one is determined to have been a part of the problem for sure it won't be but otherwise I assume it will be back as it was when he is finished.

He has to go back to GA again tomorrow but is expecting to wrap it up early enough to turn in the truck he has rented for this job. Then unless he gets another big contract he should have time to finish up the work on the site.
